We had a valued client call our agency recently to let us know she and her husband were the victims of identity theft. She just called in to report it, since she is contacting various professionals throughout the process. I was happy to be able to tell her that with the Homeowners policy we helped her secure, there is valuable Identity Theft Protection coverage included. I gave her the phone number to contact a highly experienced Fraud Specialist, who will become their personal advocate and ally guiding them through the resolution process until completely resolved. She was very surprised and enthused about the news. Additionally, the protection includes coverage for attorney’s fees commonly associated with such a loss.
We sent an email blast out on this subject and received response emails from 3 more individuals indicating they had learned the same thing happened to them when they filed their income taxes. With two of the individuals we were able to let them know they had the coverage. The third individual did not have the coverage - she was not our client.
I’ve gone off all braggadocious in this one. I’ll be in-sufferable at dinner tonight, demanding cookies AND pie for dessert! Patty will quickly bring me back down to earth.
But seriously, if you are a client and wonder if you have the coverage, just send an email (most of our clients already do).
