You Gotta See This!!

So, they tell me it’s not a good idea to walk away from the Blog for an entire summer – “It’s detrimental to your website SEO” (Search Engine Optimization).

As I’m being told this, the only thing that runs through my head is “I’m fine with that” because the contacts we have received from people that have found us on the web have been less than stellar.  Save for yesterday, when we were contacted by a sharp woman of business.

After speaking with her for a while I was convinced she was a referral, because all of our clients are super smart and she seemed cut from the same cloth.  I damn near fell out of my chair when I learned she found us from a web search.

Until then, our best lead was a college kid working on a paper for their fictional business startup.  He needed to project Insurance expense (I recommend he look at it as an investment because it may prove the biggest asset he has at the time of loss) for his paper.

I’ve had this before, and I really don’t have time for this, but I find their honesty refreshing since they let me know why they need the information. So I let them know I’ll get back to them before the week is out.  I’ll take a few minutes before I leave on a Friday to look up Property, General Liability and Work Comp rates and give them a good premium projection for their paper and wish them luck.

After I’ve sent the email, it amuses me that his 2 biggest concerns in life at this time are the grade he'll get on the paper and whether or not he’ll get *^#@ over the weekend.

But after sending, I also question why I took the time to look up rates, he is going to turn this in to a Professor who likely will have no clue whether the information they present is accurate or not.  They’re tucked away in the blanketed world of academia where such knowledge isn’t even remotely necessary.

Re-reading the statement above, I must consider that the biting tone is a mask for envy.  I do enjoy my work, however, I think the Professor has used their superior IQ to make a life choice a bit better than mine.

Unless you’re an ex-Mizzou Professor that wants to block a student journalist from covering a campus protest, I’d imagine you can fly under the radar, live quite comfortably, and eliminate much of the stress the typical man or woman has.  And quite frankly I think they’ll probably retire better than me.

My opinion is completely uninformed and I may be way off base – it  wouldn’t be the first time.

“You’ve Got Mail”

Coming back to the SEO topic, depending on your age, this may or may not ring familiar.  Remember when AOL was nearly everybody’s Internet Provider.  It was cool, but everyone had that one friend or Aunt that was really blown away.   Accordingly, you’d get regular emails from that person that were blasted out to several people with some “saying” or picture (that took 5 mins. Download) of like a Lion and a puppy – telling all recipients “You got to see this!”

You gotta see this!!

Being like this Aunt, I’m utilizing this useless post to boost SEO and show you something “You gotta See.”  I don’t believe I’ve ever done this before (told a bunch of people to watch something), but this amazes me and I don’t think I’m off on this.

It comes from GoPro - When you get one, you get a weekly email with some amazing video – so  w/o further ado – check this out!:

While this is saying very little, relative to the comparison content -  but this is unquestionably the best thing on this entire Blog!

Please ignore this non sequitur section as I utilize it for Search Engine Optimization:

  • Workers Compensation - Work Comp
  • Insurance
